Amendment to Fee Payment Process for Tax Residency Certificate Applications
Effective from 3 October 2025
Applicants must pay the full applicable fees at the time of submitting their Tax Residency Certificate (TRC) application.
This replaces the existing process, where an AED 50 submission fee was paid first, followed by the issuance fee after preliminary acceptance.
Total service fees remain unchanged under the new process.
Applicants are responsible for:
Verifying their eligibility; and
Ensuring compliance with UAE tax legislation and applicable tax treaties.
The FTA reserves the right to reject applications that do not meet requirements.
Fees are non-refundable in cases of rejection.
Applications submitted before 3 October 2025 and still under review will continue to follow the existing process.
We advise that applicants should ensure all eligibility criteria are reviewed, the application is proper, and proper supporting documents are prepared before submitting the application, as the full fees will now be paid upfront.
