Introduction:
The Tax Residency Certificate / Tax Domicile Certificate is an official document issued by Federal Tax Authority confirming that an individual or corporate entity resides in the UAE.
It is used to take advantage of double taxation avoidance agreements with other countries and to combat tax evasion.
Requirements:
For a natural person to apply for the certificate he must be a resident in the UAE for at least 183 days and legal persons should have been established for at least one year in the UAE.
Validity:
The certificate will be valid for one year from the date of issue and can be used for one specific country at a time and one can have multiple certificates as such.
